Hey all- I was wondering if anyone has ever considered getting a Savanna cat? Or has one already? They're those domestic cats that are sort of a cross breed, golden colored with black spots, and they're huge! Massive for a domestic cat, like a mini wildcat I suppose. They like to go for walks, and I hear they're very active and affectionate. Thoughts? Would you ever want to get one? I know I would.

The tiger in me absolutely hates housecats with a passion. I wouldn't do any animal harm (we paid $15 to put a $3 hamster to sleep because we couldn't bare to watch him die), but if I ever did, it would be to a housecat. Hate. Hate. Hate. Hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate!!!!!!! HATE!!!!! *deep breath* I'm okay now. I found some videos of Savanna cats on YouTube. And my answer is "Hell yes".

I would LOVE one! They are beautiful cats that the best qualities of both worlds. The only things holding me back are that I don't have enough space for one at the moment and they cost in the quadruple digits due to how hard they are to breed.

I don't really know why I hate cats so much. I just really do. Every cat I've met has blown me off at one time or another. It's infuriating. Even when I meet a cat that I think I could get along with, it decides that it doesn't want to be petted that way, or it wants you to pet it over there, or that it really doesn't give a flying flip about you anyway! In the end, it goes trotting off on it's merry way and I want to prepare a dish of Uncle Charlie's Chicken.

Aiedaile: Oh, I know. Soooo much money, but I'll save up for one eventually!
Kaelan: Hmmmmm... I have to say, that's one of the things I like about cats, is their stubbornness and their exceptional capacity to do as they please, you know? They just sort of do as they wish.

Hmmm ive been thinking about it ... but if imever gonna get a more ''exotic'' feline i would go for a real Serval ... really go for the wild type (ofcourse its not gonna be wild , and if i ever get one , or take care of one , its probably gonna be if i work at a sanctuary , or ''refuge'' for big cats , orphans ... anyway ... and ofcourse with the experience to work with the animal , studies ...

and Kaelan... You cant judge all cats like that ... their all different just like people , my cat happens to be to much of a huger , annoying little critter , he is int really independent as other cats I've seen ... When I wait for the bus , I have to ''shew'' him away because he keeps coming to see me , when I bring him inside the house he just wants me to take care of him ... Hes really a ''mama's boy'' ... (REALLY) ... When hes thirsty (he drinks from the toilet tough) I opened the door , he could go ... (I was doing my homework) and he keepth meowing like crazy until I ''Came With him , in the bathroom for him to drink as well as he wanted to be petted ... and he wouldn't go unless I came with him *sigh* ... And when I go to sleep he snuggles next to me * and sleeps like in a huge like position with his paws around my neck * ... the little cutie ... Not all cats are the same ... like not all people are Eider ... You should give cats an other try ... maybe you'll find your self a new bud ... who knows...

I would love to have a Savannah cat, they are so pretty =) sadly I do not have enough room for one, and it would be difficult, I think to find one where I live, also I think they are banned from being owned in some places =/

I LOVE Savannah cats! They are so pretty...
But I love my cats too much to get another one (I have three already and they would probably fight if I got another one, like they did when I got the last one). Plus they are pretty big.
Aren't they part serval?

They're beautiful cats, but while I know that they are bred to be domestic cats, I think I would feel too guilty keeping something that seems so wild caged up in a house.
